Ashforth Wellness – Bingo & 30-Day Step Challenge

As part of its ongoing wellness initiative, Ashforth hosted two employee challenges this spring: the Wellness Bingo Challenge in May and the first-ever Wellness 30-Day Step Challenge in June. Together, the challenges encouraged employees to build healthy habits, stay active, and support a good cause.

Wellness Bingo

Throughout May, employees worked to complete a Wellness Bingo card filled with activities like taking a break in the wellness room, stretching for 10 minutes, going for a walk, and supporting a co-worker. The challenge gave employees a fun way to build habits that support physical and mental health.

Each employee that participated was entered to win one of 25 $50 Amazon gift cards. Those who filled their entire card were entered into a second drawing for one of six $250 Amazon gift cards.

30-Day Step Challenge Benefits Hope in Motion

In June, Ashforth launched its first 30-Day Step Challenge in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Hope in Motion Walk. The challenge encouraged participants to reach an average of 7,000 steps per day throughout the month. Employees supported the effort through donations of $10 or more, with proceeds benefiting the Bennett Cancer Center.

Thirty-one employees participated. Over the course of the month, participants collectively logged an impressive 9,511,647 steps, fostering some friendly competition while supporting employee wellness and physical activity.

The top five individual participants were each awarded a $100 Nike gift card. Members of the Marketing Team each received an Ashforth-branded HydroJug water bottle and a $50 Nike gift card. The top five individual participants by total steps were:

  1. Andrew Martinez, TAC – 971,270 steps
  2. Luis Nunez, APC – 935,379 steps
  3. Kim DePra, TAC – 515,190 steps
  4. John Harvey, TAC – 427,422 steps
  5. Imaan Jivraj, TAC Intern – 404,781 steps

The Marketing Team—Andrew Martinez, Kim DePra, George Ferris, and Imaan Jivraj—finished as the top-performing team, recording the highest combined point and step totals during the challenge – 2,169,276 steps.
