40 Under 40 Awarded to A.P. Construction’s Sean Hurley

Sean Hurley, Project Manager with A.P. Construction, is one of forty accomplished business professionals between the ages of 21 and 40 who has been honored with the 2017 Fairfield County 40 Under 40 Award presented by the Fairfield County Business Journal.

Sean and the other award recipients have been chosen by a panel of judges for their extraordinary leadership, ongoing commitment to personal and professional development, and their individual business accomplishments that have made an impact in their organizations. A field of over 100 candidates were nominated by bosses or colleagues and only 40 award recipients were selected by a panel of judges from the Fairfield County Business Journal. The recipients are from a variety of business sectors.

Sean started at A.P. Construction in 2011 as an Assistant Superintendent and has risen quickly to Assistant Project Manager and now in his current role as a Project Manager. He was chosen for his leadership skills and in recognition of his ability to manage complicated construction projects including his current assignment managing a major renovation and expansion of the New Canaan YMCA. Other complex projects Sean has worked on include a new 38,000 square foot medical office building and renovation of the Dickstein Cancer Center for White Plains Hospital, the development of Chelsea Piers Connecticut in Stamford, and several office renovations.

Having played on the varsity ice hockey team at Brown University, Sean pursued his passion for three years playing on minor league teams and coaching in Stamford and New Canaan. He is currently a coach for the under 8 and under 12 age groups, volunteering four evenings a week for the seven month season. Also while with A.P. Construction, Sean earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Connecticut.

Sean is the third A.P. Construction employee to be honored with the 40 Under 40 Award, joining David Sansone who was a 2015 award recipient and Joe Orlando who was a 2012 award recipient.
