Juan Herrera has been a member of A.P. Construction since 1998 and dedicates each day to making our projects better, delivering the highest service to project teams, and customer base. He is a master of the construction trade and can be counted on for every craft when needed. He works nights and weekends whenever necessary and goes above and beyond every single day – he’ll pitch in to help literally anyone! He is dedicated to APC, loves all his colleagues, past and present, and he’s everyone’s best buddy. Everyone at APC praises Juan for his commitment, dedication, and positive attitude.

NOMINEES

Sue Kretchko of The Ashforth Company and Nicholas Boyer of Albert B. Ashforth Inc. were recognized as nominees for the 2022 Albert B. Ashforth Employee of the Year Award for outstanding performance, service, and commitment.

Sue Kretchko was originally hired twenty-eight years ago in 1994 at our EastRidge Properties management assignment in White Plains, NY. There, she worked as Financial Assistant from October 1994 until the portfolio was sold eleven years later in December 2005. One of her financial responsibilities at EastRidge was to process the weekly payroll for the building engineering staff. After the portfolio was sold, she was briefly out of a job until a position opened up in Stamford in January 2006 for Payroll Administrator in the Finance Department. What an opportunity to “boomerang” back to the Company in less than one month’s time! Since then, she has taken on full responsibility of processing the payroll for all employees in the Company and she is also responsible for the monthly administrative duties related to Company benefits. She is reliable, diligent, and you can always count on her to “figure it out to get it right!”

During 2022, Sue was tasked with transitioning our payroll processing service from Fidelity to ADP and is going to lead the way in 2023 to switch to another payroll processor.

Nicholas Boyer has been a member of ABA’s Management Services Team since 2019. Since joining the department some of his notable work includes working on the division’s daily cash book, performing Owner requested cashflows for their capital calls, and creating department spreadsheets for all property W9 and property information. Nick also fills the treasury position, initiating wires and ACH transactions for the department’s Vice President for our owned and managed properties. Additionally, as the lead treasury person, he interacts with ABA’s team members daily assisting in answering their questions and service requests.

All while Nick is doing the above, he serves as a Staff Accountant for two of Waterway Capital’s properties, (8&10 Wright Street and 450 Post Road East) and two of Black Diamonds properties, (2187 Atlantic Street and 120 Tokeneke Road). Nick never says no when asked to complete a task and will always ask if he can do more. Nick is well-liked in our department for his positive attitude and his willingness to help everyone.

Since starting this Employee of the Year tradition in 1992, 31 employees have received the Albert B. Ashforth Award in recognition of his or her outstanding performance, service and commitment to the Company. Previous winners were:
