Pitney Bowes and O’Connor Davies recently sign new leases

The Ashforth Company announced that Genworth, a leading Fortune 500 insurance holding company, has renewed its lease at 3001 Stamford Square, a building developed, owned and managed by Ashforth.

Moving all of its 125 employees from approximately the same amount of space on the second floor, Genworth will occupy nearly 45,000 square feet of space on the fourth floor of the building located at 3001 Summer Street.

“It’s been a mutually beneficial ten-year partnership,” said Dan Sheehan, Executive Vice President – Chief Investment Officer of Genworth Financial, Inc. “We have specific space requirements given the highly consultative nature of our work and our new floor at 3001 Stamford Square is a tailor-made workspace.”

“We are extremely pleased that Genworth has renewed and the leasing momentum continues at 3001 Stamford Square,” said Darrell Harvey, Co-CEO of The Ashforth Company. “Our recent renovation was designed to meet the changing needs of today’s work environment. Trends for additional non-dedicated office spaces and more on-site building amenities were carefully considered at 3001 by offering an expansive modern lobby, a gourmet café with outdoor seating, a newly landscaped courtyard with seating, a high-end fitness facility, and a private shuttle to and from the Stamford train station,” added Harvey.

Pitney Bowes leases approximately 74,000 square feet on the top two floors of the building and O’Connor Davies leases 11,000 square feet on the fifth floor. Additional negotiations and general interest in the marketplace continue.

Designed by Roger Ferris + Partners of Westport, Connecticut, Ashforth recently completed a dramatic, multi-million dollar renovation of 3001 Stamford Square at the end of 2012. The property consists of 290,000 square feet of office space on seven floors with four levels of underground parking.

MKDA was the architect for the Genworth space. A.P. Construction Company, Ashforth’s construction division, completed the renovation.

Ed Tonnessen, managing director of JLL, is the exclusive leasing agent for 3001 Stamford Square and George Walker, senior vice president of JLL, represented Ashforth. Cassidy Turley represented Genworth.

Surrounded by blue-chip corporate neighbors, 3001 Stamford Square is ten minutes from I-95, the Merritt Parkway and the Stamford Train Station and within walking distance of Lord & Taylor, Ridgeway Shopping Center, two hotels, banks and restaurants.
