Assistant Corporate Controller
Summary of Position:
The Assistant Corporate Controller (ACC) is responsible for corporate accounting and financial reporting for The Ashforth Company. The ACC currently supervises one staff accountant and assists the Corporate Controller (CC) in all companywide accounting functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handles all aspects of the preparation and issuance of the year-end financial audits with outside accountants, including assisting with the footnote disclosures.
- Responsible for closing the books each month for all corporate companies along with the preparation of the quarterly consolidated financial reports and variances explanations; interfaces with accounting staff of each department during the closing and review process.
- Updates fixed asset accounting (depreciation schedules and reports) for all buildings and companies.
- Prepares individual corporate entity and consolidated budgets and projections.
- Assist the CC and outside tax accountants with corporate and partnership tax compliance.
- Responsible for the timely filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns.
- Prepares and files the city/town personal property tax reports.
- Prepares quarterly taxable income projections for the purpose of determining quarterly shareholder distributions.
- Reviews, updates and implements, as needed, internal financial controls with the CC.
- Assists CC in preparation of CFO presentations for Board of Director’s and Shareholder’s meetings.
- Special projects as needed.
Competencies and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting plus 7+ years of professional accounting experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- Tax compliance background preferred but not required.
- Real Estate experience a plus but not required.
- Must have excellent supervisory, communication, and analytical skills.
- Must be a strong general ledger accountant with strong computer skills, especially excel.
- Knowledge of Sage and Yardi accounting software and Sage FAS preferred but not required.
- Must be a motivating team player with an exemplary work ethic and hands-on work style.

Building Engineer
Summary of Position
The Building Engineer handles a variety of day-to-day mechanical and maintenance issues related to servicing the building and its tenants. In addition, this position requires flexible, 24 hour availability in order to provide proper back up support for all building systems, security and clean-up.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Repair, maintain, replace, install and adjust mechanical equipment for all building systems and services.
- Handle all other plumbing, electrical and HVAC Building problems.
- Respond to all tenant service requests as directed by Senior Property Manager.
- Utilize Building Engines when responding to tenant requests.
- Handle 24-hour “on-call” emergencies under supervision of Senior Property Manager.
- Complete early hour snow removal during winter season up to and including plowing, shoveling and, salting.
- Assist with implementing Preventive Maintenance Programs and enforcing Building Rules and Regulations.
- Perform other installations and repairs as required by Property Management.
- Function as Company representative between Building Owners/Management and Tenants.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Competencies and Qualifications
- Requires minimum of 5 years of experience in the operation of a multi-tenant commercial office building with a background in electrical, HVAC, and inside and outside maintenance.
- Prefer S-1 or S-2 License.
- Must have very good verbal communication skills.
- Must be capable of heavy lifting and moving objects (in excess of 25/50 pounds); must be capable of climbing, crawling and working on ladders.

Senior Estimator
Summary of Position
Spearhead, manage, and deliver all aspects of estimating services from the pursuit process to bid inception through buy-out. Tasks include developing conceptual budgets, schematic design and development estimates, GMP or stipulated sum development, value engineering, negotiated bids, scopes of work, general conditions, system/equipment/material studies and comparisons, subcontractor relations and staying up-to-date on industry developments applicable to estimating. Assist and support the preconstruction, business development, and project operations staff with constructability and document reviews, project kick-off, prepare quantity take-offs, and participate in presentations, interviews, and aspects of proposal development as it relates to estimating. Project typology will range from ground-up construction as well as interiors work for multifamily, senior living, affordable housing, healthcare, academic, private club, municipal, hospitality, museums and culture, and specialtyprojects.
