Stamford Health’s Bennett Cancer Center held its 27th annual Hope in Motion Walk event on National Cancer Survivor’s Day, Sunday, June 5, 2022. This year’s hybrid event raised over $400,000.
Teams that raised $1,000 or more and individuals who fundraised $500 or more were invited to attend the celebration event held at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center.
As the founding and presenting sponsor, Ashforth partnered with Stamford Hospital 27 years ago in part to bring awareness to how much cancer has affected the lives of people in our community and to reach out to the community to let people know what an outstanding, local cancer center we have available to us.
The event has raised $17 million over 27 years. Today the community supports 5,500 cancer patients and their families who are in active treatment at the Bennett Cancer Center every year. 100% of all donations go directly to sustain quality-of-life programs and services at the Bennett Cancer Center including integrative medicine, survivorship, cancer recovery program, support services, transportation, a nutrition program, and much more. This is all provided free of charge to patients.
Ashforth annually provides a financial contribution, a fundraising team, and marketing services in kind. Over the 27 years, this total has exceeded $1.3 million.
