Ashforth Supports Hope in Motion for 23rd Year
Stamford Hospital’s Bennett Cancer Center held its 23rd annual Hope in Motion Walk & Run event, on National Cancer Survivor’s Day, Sunday, June 3, 2018.
As the founding and presenting sponsor, Ashforth partnered with Stamford Hospital 23 years ago in part to bring awareness to how much cancer has affected the lives of people in our community and to reach out in the community to let people know what an outstanding, local cancer center we have available to us.
This year, Ashforth’s team was one of the top fundraising teams, raising over $20,000. Special thanks to our team captains Andrew Martinez, Jen Greco, Joanna Sicuranza and Sydney Worobel for coordinating the team and several other fundraising events leading up to the day of event.
The event has raised $15 million over 23 years. 100% of all donations go directly to sustain quality-of-life programs and services at the Bennett Cancer Center including exercise and nutrition programs; integrative medicine; yoga, Reiki, and massage; transitions survivorship program; transportation; a nutrition program, and much more. As a result of the funds raised, these services are all provided free of charge to the patients – which is highly unique compared to other cancer programs locally and across the country. Bennett Cancer Center believes that no patient should have to navigate their cancer journey alone.
Ashforth annually provides a financial contribution, a fundraising team, and marketing services in-kind. Over the 23 years, this total has exceeded $1.2 million.
