Ashforth held its 12th Annual Environmental Awareness Week event to promote sustainability, conservation, and awareness at its owned and managed buildings during the week of April 17-21. The event is always held during the week of Earth Day.

This year’s initiative included the following drives:

  • E-cycling Drive – Over 1,000 lbs. of electronics collected. All were encouraged to bring in items from homes such as computers, TVs, printers, and other similar electronics that are typically costly to recycle. Items were properly recycled using Next Level for Recycling (NLR), Ashforth’s year-round recycling hauler.
  • Clothing Drive – Over 230 articles of spring and summer clothing for Men, Women and Children were collected and donated to Person-to-Person (P2P). P2P provides essential services to residents of lower Fairfield County, including food assistance, casework assistance, financial opportunity center, clothing and care programs, emergency financial assistance, scholarships and mentorships, camperships, and seasonal programs.
  • Book Drive – Over 300 books were collected and donated to the Ferguson Library in Stamford. The Ferguson Library provides free and equal access to information, ideas, books, and technology to educate and enrich the Stamford community.
