Ashforth Receives 8th Consecutive Healthy Workplace Award and an Innovation Award

The Ashforth Company was recognized for the 8th consecutive year (Gold Award) for its commitment to employee health and well-being and successful efforts promoting a healthy workplace.

Ashforth also received the 2020 Tanya Court Innovation Award for its new generous Paid Maternity and Parental Leave Policies and its emphasis on providing Paid Time Off for bonding with one’s family as an investment in the greater emotional wellness of its employees and their families. Ryan Harvey, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, represented Ashforth during the panel discussion.

“Our employees are whole people who exist outside of the workplace. We are very mindful of what that consists of,” said Harvey, while discussing how the company’s core operating principles acted as key factor in creating the policy.

Since launching its wellness program in 2012, Ashforth has promoted wellness by: emailing Ashforth’s Wellness News monthly to employees and posting on its Wellness Board in its community kitchen, supporting fitness goals with gym discounts and walking groups, and encouraging participation in yearly health observance events.

Ashforth continued its Financial Wellness Program for its employees, which began in 2016. The Program includes a series of onsite financial seminars offered by Fidelity, as well as financial wellness articles as part of Ashforth’s monthly Wellness News. The goal of the Company’s Financial Wellness Program is to help reduce any financial stress employees may have.

In 2019, Ashforth introduced Menumavin,  an online food ordering platform for delivery and carry out that offers the opportunity for employees to order healthy and organic food options from over 25 Stamford/Greenwich restaurants delivered directly to the building. Ashforth also continued participating in a farm-to-office online produce delivery service, provided by Field Goods. Field Goods offers a variety of selections including fruit and vegetable bag subscriptions, pasture-raised meats, and à la carte local produce options from over 60 small farms and producers.

In total there were 51 companies recognized for their wellness initiatives.
