The Ashforth Company held its annual Donation Days program at several of its owned and managed properties in Connecticut and New York.

Collections during Donations Days included a Thanksgiving Food Drive benefiting the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, Adopt-a-Granny benefitting SilverSource, and Halloween Candy Drive benefiting Operation Gratitude.

  • Thanksgiving Food Drive – Over 12 bins of food including peanut butter, grape jelly, breakfast cereals, fruit cups, pasta, beans, juices, rice, and many other food items were collected and donated to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County is an organization that provides food to nearly 90 non-profit agencies and programs that serve low income people in the lower Fairfield area.
  • Halloween Candy Drive – 10 large bags of leftover Halloween candy were collected and donated to Operation Gratitude to be to be sent to deployed troops overseas and first responders in the states. Operation Gratitude annually sends 200,000+ care packages filled with food, entertainment, hygiene, and handmade items, plus personal letters of appreciation to Veterans, First Responders, New Recruits, Wounded Heroes, their Care Givers, and to individually named U.S. service members deployed overseas and their families waiting at home.
  • Adopt-a-Granny – Over __ apples were collected and donated to SilverSource as part of their 2nd Annual Adopt-a-Granny program. “Apples” collected are given to older adults (60+) who are experiencing life changing events (health crisis, temporary home care, loss of a loved one, homelessness, a fire, a flood, eviction, loss of income due to an accident, etc.). “Apples” include clothing, household items, hygienic accessories, and more. SilverSource is an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit agency providing information, counseling and emergency financial assistance to the over-60 population of the greater Stamford area

Tenants who donated to the two-week long event were given an entry into a drawing held by each building for a chance to win a holiday gift.
