3001 Stamford Square was awarded the 2012 BOMA CT TOBY Award for Renovated Building. TOBY’s are awarded on the basis of building management staffing, tenant services, amenities, community involvement and building presentation. An extensive $12 million dollar renovation was completed which implemented LEED construction standards and included a striking, new modern lobby, state-of-the-art elevators, a new environmentally friendly and efficient HVAC system, enhanced landscaping, new property identity and directional signage and contemporary façade enhancements. New amenities include Summerford’s, a full service café, a plug-in electric vehicle charging station, a modern, high-tech fitness facility as well as private shuttle service.
707 Summer Street was also awarded a TOBY in the Earth category. The Earth Award is awarded to buildings on the basis of operation efficiency, water and energy conservation and management of hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste (including reduce, re-use, recycle and recover programs). Ashforth enhanced 707’s office space internally and externally through sustainable programs such as installation of energy-efficient lighting operated by motion sensors, reduced water consumption by installing automatic flush valves in the restrooms and rain sensors, and instituting green cleaning policies to increase recycling to an estimated 42 tons a year.
