On Sunday, June 8, Stamford Health held its annual Hope in Motion Walk at Mill River Park, drawing more than 1,000 participants for a meaningful day of community, remembrance, and hope. The event featured a scenic 3-mile walk along Mill River Park’s Greenway Trail to Scalzi Park and back, all in support of cancer patients and their families. This year’s walk has raised over $521,000, which contributed to the event’s 29-year total of more than $18.5 million.

As the founding and presenting sponsor, Ashforth has partnered with Stamford Health in part to bring awareness to how much cancer has affected the lives of people in the community and to reach out to the community to let people know what an outstanding, local cancer center we have available to us.

Ashforth annually provides a financial contribution, a fundraising team, and in-kind marketing services. Over the past 29 years, this total has exceeded $1.5 million.

This year, Team Ashforth—led by captains Andrew Martinez, Nick Boyer, Sarah Waterbury, and Emily Anderson—rallied together to exceed their fundraising goal of $5,000, ultimately raising $8,053.

Team Ashforth’s success was fueled by creative and spirited fundraising efforts leading up to event day, including a Cookie Bake-Off, a March Madness 50/50 office pool, and a festive St. Patrick’s Day Potluck Lunch. These events not only raised funds but also brought employees together in the spirit of giving back. On event day, 24 Ashforth employees, friends, and family members walked in solidarity and support.
