The Ashforth Company once again held a gift collection drive at three of its owned and managed properties supporting the Kids Helping Kids’ 10th annual Gift of Giving event. Tenants from 707 Summer Street, 3001 Stamford Square, and Greenwich Plaza donated many gently used and new gifts toward the event.
Over 100 gifts were collected and donated. Donations were sorted and placed on display at the KHK pop-up store located at The Boys and Girls Club of Stamford, where close to 400 children came to shop for holiday presents for their family members at no cost.
The annual “Gift of Giving” project started in 2013 when a team of 5th grade kids, led by Ethan Lange, talked about their love of getting and giving gifts around the holidays. The seed of this idea grew into the Annual Gift of Giving event which is now collecting thousands of gently used and new gifts for underserved kids to go shopping for their loved ones each year.
KHK’s mission is to facilitate the development of leadership skills through youth-led service projects by empowering students to have a proactive attitude toward change by taking their passion and turning it into action. Every project is initiated, managed, and led by youth. This unique approach shows students the power they have to make an impact in the world and in the lives of others.
