This past October, Ashforth held its annual flu shot clinics to promote its healthy workplace culture at two of its owned and managed properties, Greenwich Plaza and 707 Summer Street. Partnering with CVS Pharmacy, a total of 82 flu shots were administered during the two onsite clinics.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it is particularly important to get vaccinated this year because of the mild flu season last year. A potentially early and severe flu season could result from the relaxed pandemic safety measures and the population’s reduced immunity to the flu after months of avoiding situations where viruses can spread. During the 2020-2021 flu season, 2,038 flu cases were reported compared to the 38 million cases reported in the 2019-2020 season.
The CDC highly recommends getting your flu shot not only to reduce your risk from the flu but also to help conserve potentially scarce health care resources.
