ASHFORTH EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
For Outstanding Performance, Service and Commitment
Jen Greco has been a member of ABA’s Management Services Team since 2010. She has worked extremely hard this past year after two positions were lost within the department. In addition to her responsibilities, she has stepped up to handle the Accounting Manager position and the Senior Staff Accountant position. She continued to handle the financial statements for Stamford Square, Greenwich Plaza, 707 and Stone Point while managing people and reviewing monthly financials for other third party clients. She worked many weekends in order to keep up with the workload and she did it all with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She never shies away from hard work and is always there to help anyone in our department with a question or problem. During a very questionable office market, she is very conscious of tenant landlord relationships and will always bring any issues to management so that they are handled appropriately. She truly is a team player and worthy of this nomination.
NOMINEES
Emily Hepworth and Sarah Waterbury of The Ashforth Company and Ryan Sullivan of A.P. Construction were recognized as nominees for the 2023 Albert B. Ashforth Employee of the Year Award for outstanding performance, service and commitment.
As a special circumstance, we would like to present both Emily Hepworth and Sarah Waterbury as the TAC 2023 employee nominations, in recognition of their outstanding contributions in their current roles and in addition to taking on the extra responsibilities of the HR department for over 12 weeks.
This employee has been with the Company since 2016. In that relatively short span of time, we already can’t imagine the office without her. She handles a nonstop onslaught of requests from so many different Company departments with such deftness that few are aware of how many hats she actually wears. In addition to handling some of the Company’s most high-maintenance executives and backstopping the legal department, this employee always seems to be asking, “What else can I do to help?” Turns out that, for over 12 weeks this year, the answer to that question was: “run the entire Human Resources Department with Sarah while Joanna is on maternity leave” – a task she handled with almost masochistic relish. Despite all of this, somehow, she rarely seems harried or stressed. In fact, her spirit is unsinkable – the only employee who consistently answers the question “how’s it going?” with an emphatic “great!” and actually seems to mean it, even on a rainy November Tuesday at 2:30PM. We are lucky to have her and her wonderful presence and are pleased to nominate Emily Hepworth as one half of the Emily/Sarah Tag Team for the 2023 Albert B. Ashforth Employee of the Year.
This employee has been with the Company since 2022. In addition to handling her responsibilities with the Finance dept and the transition with our new CFO Melissa, she took on running the HR department with Emily for over 12 weeks. Even though she has been with us for a short time, she is a consummate team player, always ready to contribute, regardless of the task at hand. She also has a strong commitment to volunteerism which shines through her passion for giving back to the community. Her dedication to helping others is evident in her work and her active involvement in volunteer opportunities presented by the Company, including her leadership role as one of Ashforth’s Hope in Motion team captains, as a balloon handler for our Stamford Thanksgiving Parade team, and participating in our community giving collection drives. Going above and beyond, she also initiated and executed the entire process of donating over 100 of our office binders by reaching out to various nonprofits, schools, and local families in need. Her positivity and willingness to go the extra mile make her an invaluable asset to our team. We are pleased to nominate Sarah Waterbury as one half of the Emily/Sarah Tag Team for the 2023 Albert B. Ashforth Employee of the Year.
This nominee has been with the Company since 2016 and has demonstrated an extremely high level of professionalism, an ever-present willingness to be proactive and tackle anything before him, and continues to take on more and more responsibility for our organization. In 2023, he has emerged as a Senior Project Manager where he is overseeing both the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich and Oak Grove projects (two of our larger active construction projects). He has played an active role in our preconstruction services department and has been involved in supporting APC in securing more work. For instance, he played an instrumental part in our closing the Meadow Gardens project (a $36M affordable housing project in Norwalk – starting construction in summer 2024). Clients sing his praises as do other project stakeholders such as architects, engineers, and subcontractors. He is a pleasure to work with and embodies the ethos, ethics, integrity, and work ethic which makes APC a special place to work and the builder of choice in the markets in which we operate. APC is pleased to nominate Ryan Sullivan for the 2023 Albert B. Ashforth Employee of the Year.
