Ashforth
teamed up with the Marilyn W. Dugan Foundation and the Yerwood
Center to collect and arrange transportation for items to Haiti.
The collection will help families in Haiti and those who have
relocated locally and are trying to recover from the horrible
earthquake that hit back in January. The drive was held in
three of Ashforth’s owned buildings: 707 Summer
Street, Stamford Square and Greenwich Plaza. Ashforth’s
managed property 1111 & 1177 Summer Street also participated.
Employees
and tenants were encouraged to purchase items such as emergency
kits, bottled water, canned goods and toiletries. There
also was a large need for new or gently used bedding. As
a result, the collection received a great number of blankets
and sheets.
“As a company
we wanted to do something to support Haiti and this drive was
a great opportunity. Our
employees and tenants felt good knowing that their donations
were going to help out people truly in need,” said Brian Heelan,
Sr. Vice President & Director of Operations. .
A special
thank you to all the employees and tenants that took part in
making the drive a success.
