The Business Council of Fairfield County’s Wellness Roundtable once again honored Ashforth with a “silver” recognition award for its ongoing wellness program, originally established in 2012. It’s a platform for the exchange of best practices, communications and program events to raise awareness of wellness initiatives and it also serves as a catalyst for employers to take cooperative action in establishing and promoting wellness programs within their organizations.

Since Ashforth’s launch in 2012, the company has promoted wellness by: posting monthly material on its wellness board, supporting fitness goals with gym discounts and walking groups, organizing yearly health fairs and encouraging participation in health observance events.

In addition to the existing wellness efforts, in 2014 Ashforth launched an employee wellness web newsletter and introduced a Farm Share at Work program – a weekly delivery of fresh locally-grown produce. “Our goal is to encourage our employees to lead healthy lifestyles by providing the education and resources that will help them make small changes throughout their day. For us, it’s about making ‘healthy’ easier” said Rachel Grossman, Human Resources Generalist/Corporate Office Manager.

In total there were 44 companies, up from 27 last year, recognized for their wellness initiatives.

Ashforth was also honored in 2013 and 2014 with “silver” recognition awards.
